Type Locality and Naming
The type section is in the Laiqiao Hill in Sandu, Guizhou. The Laiqiaoshan Fm was named by Guizhou Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources in 1987.
Synonym: (赖壳山组)
Lithology and Thickness
The Laiqiaoshan Fm is composed of yellow, yellowish green thin-bedded clay siltstone intercalated with silty claystone. It is 23-28 m thick.

Lower contact
It rests disconformably on the limestone of the Lanmutan Fm

Fossils
The Laiqiaoshan Fm yields graptolite of Husterograptus teretiusculus assemblage and trilobite Birmanites hupeiensis, Lonchodomas sp.
